At the Foot & Balance Centre, there a two friendly and professional Podiatrists ready to serve your needs; both with different backgrounds and varying specialities.
Graduating with distinction from Queensland Institute of Technology in 1985, Joanne Byster-Bowles and has been Tugun's practicing Podiatrist since 1986. With close to three decades of experience, Joanne is one of the longest serving Podiatrists on the Gold Coast. Her extended time in Tugun has helped her develop a strong sense of community, and she has been extremely humbled to have had the opportunity to treat families for up to four generations. Joanne prides herself in maintaining and extending her knowledge of Podiatry, as well as providing placement opportunities for Podiatry students from universities across South East Queensland. Joanne is a proud mother of two, a keen gardener and a member of a number of community volunteer groups.
David Taylor graduated from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff in the UK after working in the health and fitness industry as a sports therapist and personal trainer/senior wellbeing advisor for 8 years. Prior to joining the Foot & Balance Centre team, he ran a sports injury and rehabilitation clinic, dealing with patients from casual runners to elite athletes with a range of injures from sprained ankles to knee reconstructions. With David’s extended knowledge and experience in sports therapy, manual manipulation and orthotic therapy, he is an ideal practitioner for amateur and professional athletes alike. David has competed at national level for 400m Hurdles and Cross-country Mountain biking, and in his spare time his hobbies include stand up paddle boarding and mountain biking around the hinterland.
